RIVERDANCE CAST LEARN FESTIVAL SLIP JIG

Lauren Smyth, former student of the Reilly School can be seen in the video below instructing her fellow Riverdance cast members on how to perform a festival style slip jig.  Much slower than other styles of Irish Dancing perform this jig, it is elegant and almost balletic.  The haunting music performed by FDTA teacher Iain Mackay adds to the drama of the performance.  For anyone who wonders what defines festival dancing, this beautiful demonstration sums it up perfectly.
